For people who enjoy hosting get-togethers, a home with the right mix of spaces is key.
The size, design and architectural interest of these rooms, along with the way in which they relate to each other, all contribute to a positive experience for people who entertain.
For people in the estate condominium market, these qualities can be found in the Springs. This 2,053-square-foot model is an estate condominium at The Streams of Lake Mahogany by Jayman Built, a lakeside bungalow villa resort. It boasts the builder’s Ultra Fit and Finish.
Mahogany is an award-winning community in southeast Calgary.
In this home, every one of its social spaces is considerable in size, bright and luxurious in its own way. That includes a feature that supports gatherings in the fresh air.
Overlooking striking scenery behind the home is a 35-foot 10-inch by 17-foot three-inch terrace. It is easy to imagine hosts and their guests enjoying a bottle of wine in this space after finishing dinner. As seen in the show home, the terrace supports several pieces of outdoor furniture and a barbecue with plenty of room to spare.
The view beyond the terrace can also be taken in through a towering series of windows in the great room and dining area, which connect through an open-concept design.
Staged in the show home with several places to sit, the great room reaches 17 feet six inches by 14 feet six inches. These dimensions are similar to what can be found in some single-family estate homes.
The great room’s focal point is an upscale elongated fireplace with tile and stone cladding in a black polished finish.
A highly spacious island in the grand central kitchen offers another place for guests to spend quality time. There’s seating on two of its sides. It boasts a waterfall three-inch quartz in the colour Silver Wave.
Beyond providing a space to sit and chat, the island has an abundance of surface area on which to comfortably spread out ingredients and prepare dinner. To that end, that is a long stretch of counter along the wall contributing to this function, as well.
Adding to the visual appeal of the cooking space is an integrated fridge with french doors.
A walk-in pantry combined with the high volume of cabinets deliver plenty of storage, helping keep the kitchen organized.
The home`s two bedrooms are on opposite ends of the floor plan. Each one has a well-sized walk-in closet and ensuite.
In the master bedroom, there is an eye-catching tray-style ceiling design, and plenty of natural light through windows on two walls. Its ensuite provides a direct link to the walk-in closet, which is large enough to operate as a dressing room.
The vanity in the ensuite is expansive with two sinks and plenty of space between them. This sits beneath a soaring, full-width mirror. Across from this piece is a soothing free-standing tub and glass-encased shower with full-height tile.
It’s easy to imagine the ensuite providing a welcome escape after a long day at the office. The aforementioned terrace can be accessed through this bedroom, offering a natural transition to enjoy a sunny morning before starting one’s day.
The secondary bedroom does the same with a smaller front-facing terrace. This terrace can also be entered through an office space, staged in the show home as a sitting area.
